It's never too early to start on the Christmas cards and last week I was up early and needed something quiet to do, so of course I decided to get moving on the Christmas cards.
This card is very quick and easy to make, but you'd never know it by looking at it.
The feature stripes float above the card front, giving a fabulous 3D look and a lovely drop shadow to create interest.
To make this card you will need:
Basic White cardstock 29cm x 10.5cm, scored on the long side at 14.5cm
Real Red cardstock
Shaded Spruce cardstock
Gold foil paper*
Window Sheet 4cm x 10.5cm
Tear and Tape
Stampin' Dimensionals
Step 1. Stamp the sentiment on the card front.
Step 2. Cut strips of Real Red, Shaded Spruce and gold foil paper 1.5cm wide. Length doesn't matter, but a minimum of 7cm gives you enough to place and trim easily.
Step 3. Put Tear and Tape on the back of the cardstock strips.
Step 4. Lay the strips of cardstock on the window sheet, on a slight angle. Spacing is up to you - they can be evenly spaced or randomly spaced, whatever you like. Once you are happy with the way they are laid out, remove the backing from the Tear and Tape and stick them in place. Trim the edges.
Step 5. Place Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the window sheet, hiding them on the back of the cardstock. Position on the card front and then stick in place.
*the gold foil paper I used is not a Stampin' Up product, it came from my stash.
