Double Flap Book Card

 Hello lovely stampers,

Today I'm sharing one of my favourite fancy folds, the Double Flap Book Card. 

It's a book style fancy fold card with an extra book style flap that looks rather complicated but is so very easy to create.

I chose the gorgeous Floral Delight designer series paper, with Basic White and Mossy Meadow cardstock, and the Floral Delight stamps with Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow ink pads.

The lesson in this blog post: don't forget to order cardstock when you're running low!

When it came time to put this card together, I went to get the Old Olive cardstock off the shelf and oh dear! There wasn't any. I remembered using it to create some cards using the Simply Zinnia suite and thinking I had to order more.

Thinking and doing are different things! I've added the Old Olive cardstock to my order now!

That meant I needed a substitute green for my card.  You know Mossy Meadow is my favourite Stampin' Up colour, so it was a no brainer for me to get that packet of Mossy Meadow cardstock and start measuring and cutting for my card.

The ribbon for this suite was out of stock, it's now back in and I've added it to my order too, so I had to get creative and colour some ribbon to match.

I used some white ribbon from my stash and the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker to colour the ribbon to match the card perfectly.

Weekly Round-Up Week 3 2025

 Hello happy papercrafters!

Week three was a fun week in the craft room, lots of creative card making with fun folds and the beautiful Toadstool Garden DSP that is FREE with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration.

Gorgeous Layers of Beauty

 Hello Stampers,

 I fell in love with this bundle as soon as I saw it in the 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue (it's on page 57).

To me it has a beautiful vintage feel; it reminded me of the cards my mother kept in a drawer in her dressing table, all the beautiful birthday and anniversary cards my father had given her over the years. 

The Balmy Blue and Lemon Lolly combined with gold embossing match Mum's card almost exactly, and the trip down memory lane while this card was created made me smile.

Stamping the image and then using the masks and blending brushes to add the colour  made it so very simple to create a beautiful image, and then the dies made cutting it out super simple (fussy cutting isn't my thing either ;) )

This bundle has quickly become one of my favourites in this catalogue.

12 Cards of Christmas Number 2 - Joy & Happiness Card

I fell in love with this card, it's so quick and easy to put together and is so elegant in it's simplicity. 

And the layout - well I've used it for Christmas cards, but it could be for any occasion, just use your imagination and switch up the DSP.

 

You will need:
Basic White cardstock 29cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.5cm
Basic White cardstock 14cm x 10cm
Basic White cardstock 13.5cm x 9.5cm
Shaded Spruce cardstock 12cm x 8cm
Sentimental Christmas DSP 14cm x 10cm
Sentimental Christmas DSP 11.5cm x 7.5cm
Shaded Spruce Satin & Sheer ribbon

Step 1. Make the card base by scoring the Basic White cardstock at 14.5cm on the long side. Fold and burnish.

Step 2. Take the 14cm x 10cm piece of white cardstock and place it in the snowflake embossing folder. Run it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss.

Step 3. Cut a length of ribbon and wrap it around the embossed cardstock about a third of the way up. Using liquid adhesive, attach the mat to the card front.

Step 4. Cut a piece measuring 11.5cm x 7.5 cm from the middle of the Sentimental Christmas DSP. This will leave a thin border  - keep it. Adhere to the Pretty Peacock cardstock with dimensionals. Use liquid adhesive to adhere to the card front, centering over the embossed mat.

Step 5. Cut a length of ribbon and tie a bow. Attach to the side of the card front using mini glue dots.

Step 6. Ink up the sentiment stamp using the Versamark. Be generous and make sure the entire stamp is covered. Use an Embossing Buddy to wipe over the cardstock before stamping (this removes any static so the embossing powder simply sticks to the stamped image). Stamp the sentiment in Versamark.

Step 7. Sprinkle with the white embossing powder. Use the heat tool to set.

Step 8. Using a label punch, punch out the sentiment and stick to the card front.

Step 9. Stick the DSP frame on the inside of the card. Stamp your sentiment in the centre of the Basic White cardstock and adhere over the DSP frame.
